3 March 2022 - World Book Day

Here at Locket Loves, we all love to curl up with a good book.  There is nothing quite like immersing yourself in another world for a while.  A character in a book can stay with you for a long time, become like a friend, a role model or just someone who makes you think  “Yeah - I can be a little bit more like them, they make the world a better place”.

A writer can put words together to captivate the reader and capture moments and feelings that we don’t even know we have, want or need.  Often you will find yourself quoting a good book long after you have finished reading it.  Something about them just resonates with you on a personal or spiritual level.

Sometimes we can be inspired by a quote we didn’t even know was from a book.  Popular social media memes, shared thousands of times, inspiring many, are often from our most cherished novels.  An example of this is Beware; for I am fearless, and therefore powerful” from Frankenstein by Mary Shelley.

Books can also inspire you to do things you wouldn’t normally do - like sign up for a marathon - whoops!!  Some books should come with a warning!

Here is a list of my top three must reads for major inspiration.

The Journey In between - Keith Foskett. www.keithfoskett.com

The Pants of Perspective - Anna McNuff www.annamcnuff.com

Adventureman Running America - Jamie McDonald www.adventureman.org

What’s your favourite book?  Have any of you been dressing up for world book day?  We would love you to tag us on social media reading your favourites #locketloves
